Leave National Security Out Of Dirty Cocaine Talk - Sam Pee Yalley

A Public Interest Lawyer and a leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam Pee Yalley has warned th general public, especially politicians to cease linking the National Security apparatus with drug trafficking. To him, it is inappropriate to associate the National Security Coordinator, Col (rtd) Larry Gbevlo-Lartey with drug barons. Official reports received on Wednesday indicated that the Managing Director of Sohin Security Company, Solomon Adelaquaye, has been busted over cocoaine in the United States of America as part of a drug trafficking syndicate. The alleged drug dealer is said to be a close pal of the Lt. Col Gbevlo Lartey. The drug dealer who is believed to an NDC financier was arrested together with two Nigerians and Colombian in May for his role in the drug trafficking syndicate which had been operational in the West Africa sub-region, according to an official statement released on June 3. Sources said political godfathers including Gbevlo Lartey facilitated the selection of Sohin Security for its services at the airports. Hitherto, the company had no practical experience in handling security issues before it was granted the contract at the airports, a Daily Guide report revealed. However, Mr. Pee Yalley rubbished the report on Radio Golds Alhaji Alhaji on Saturday, warning the newspaper and any drug baron whose interest is to place a dirty tag of drugs on the neck of the National Security coordinator to refrain from their diabolic ways. To him, Col. Gbevlo Larteys efforts and achievements cannot be underrated, stating firmly that if Larry has done so much for this country, this is not how we treat people like that. I am pleading that for the sake of the unity of this country, we should keep certain national institutions out of our politics. We should leave this National Security business out of our politics.
