Mahama Govt Prays For Akufo-Addos Health

President John Mahamas Administration says it prays the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gets better. Nana Akufo-Addo has been flown out to the United Kingdom for medical check up. We can only pray and wish him well and I can tell you that this is a sincere wish; this is not a pretentious wish, Deputy Information and Media Relations Minister, Mr. Murtala Muhammed told Journalists at Fridays briefing of the media at the Flagstaff House in Accra. Nana Akufo-Addos Press Secretary, Mr. Herbert Krapa, in a very short press statement said on Tuesday June 4, 2013 that the former Flagbearer was going for scheduled engagements including his regular medical check up. The statement came on the heels of a publication by the Herald Newspaper which claimed that Nana Akufo-Addo suffered a heart attack a few days earlier and had to be rushed, first to the Akai House Clinic and later referred to the Cardio Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment. Extending the Mahama Administrations well wishes to Nana Akufo-Addo without making reference to any specific ailment or the speculated condition of the former Presidential Candidate, Mr. Murtala Muhammed said: Whatever the case is, we as a Government wish everybody well; if indeed its true, it is our prayer that he gets well. He stressed that: I think that well be the happiest [people] to see that every Ghanaian is well and kicking; more so when you have a Leader of the largest opposition party who is claimed to [be sick]. Nana Akufo-Addo was accompanied on the trip by his Wife Rebecca. He is expected back home after a week.
