"It Appears The NPP Is Under Siege"; Nana Addo Should Stamp His Authority

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe has called on the partys flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to stamp his authority and bring sanity into the NPP. According to him, certain over enthusiastic youth in the party who call themselves communicators have taken the party hostage. According to him, "it appears the NPP is under siege" and the national leadership are rendered powerless considering the insults being hurled at founding members by these so-called communicators. "We have leaders in the party who are not talking and are quiet for reasons best known to them. But I think it is because of the way these attacks have been going on," he said. The NPP apparatchik said what is happening in the party under the watch of the national leadership is very strange since "the founders of this party believe strongly in democracy and in instances where people spoke their mind, no one was attacked". "The party has a tradition and those of us who studied at the feet of people like Odoi Sykes, Ala Adjetey, B.K Adama and others never attacked their views and opinions, because these were people who cherished democracy," he added. Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe said it is very irritating that certain people who have not achieved anything in the party are allowed to cast a slur on the integrity of personalities like Kwame Pianim and Charles Dr. Wereko-Brobby who are pillars in the party and have sacrificed a lot for the NPP. "These are pillars of the party so if you attack them then you want destroy the party, because they have their support base in the party. These so-called communicators will leave the scene soon the moment the dynamic change; that does not mean we will not have NPP," he said on Hello FM. He maintained that some of the sentiments being expressed are legitimate which should rather be a warning to the party leadership.
