Head of Kongo Senior High commends government

Mr Ambrose Johnson Kwaku, Headmaster of the Kongo Senior High School near Nangodi in the Nabdam District, has commended government for the swift response taken in providing the school with potable drinking water. Mr Johnson said this would go a long way to alleviate the problem where the students would have to travel long distances to fetch water and also help them improve on their studies. Mr Johnson said this when he inspected the schools on-going development projects. He also commended the district assembly currently constructing a bridge and re-gravelling the road linking the school premises and the Nangodi-Pelungu towns. Mr Johnson appealed to government, the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), the district assembly, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr Boniface Gambilla, and non-governmental organisations to come to the aid of the school by providing two sets of 12-seater KVIP, a library complex and an ICT centre to improve on teaching and learning in the school. Other projects he appealed for were the construction of extra class rooms for the over 900 students, early completion of the girls dormitory and the dining hall, which he said would alleviate students from queuing to collect food from the kitchen in turns. Mr Johnson commended the Nabdam Traditional Council for nominating a chief to welcome him to the school as the new head and pledged to work hard through their fatherly advice to uplift the status of the school in the area.
