Barton Odro Does Not Deserve To Be In Parliament

The much talked about Waterville and Woyome judgment debt saga cannot go down in history without mentioning the role played by Hon. Barton Oduro who is the former deputy A-G under the late President Mills administration because it was through his effort that the expatriate and Alfred Woyome used fake document to swindle the nation of this whooping amount of Ghc51 billion cedis, alleges a member of the Communications team of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP). Richard Nii Armah, further claims that when the late President Mills was in power, he gave a directive that the government did not have any business with Waterville Holdings Limited and Alfred Woyome and so no money should be paid to them. However, he said, despite the order from the President, Hon. Barton Oduro with the support from his boss Betty Mould-Iddrisu allegedly used the backdoor to force the then Finance Minister, Hon. Kwabena Duffuor to pay Waterville and Alfred Woyome against the Presidents fiat. Speaking on OkayFMs Ghana Decides programme, Nii Armah said what made the case bad was when after the court gave order that the payment should be done in three installments, Hon. Ebo Barton Oduro allegedly pressurized the then Minister of Finance, Hon. Kwabena Duffour to pay Ghc51 billion cedis to Alfred Woyome in bulk. In his view, the appointment of Hon. Barton Oduro as the first Deputy Speaker of Parliament proves that the NDC does not have credible persons to occupy his position having failed as a deputy Attorney-General. He averred that the law of willfully causing financial lose to the state should be applied on the afore-mentioned ministers for disregarding the presidents directives. The PPP Communicator urged Hon. Barton Oduro to honorably resign as MP for the people of Cape Coast North to save the little credibility he has left so Ghanaians can forgive him for his actions and inactions.
