Samia Better Off With NDC Sekou

Dr. Sekou, Nkrumah, last son of Ghanas first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, says his sister, Samia Nkrumah, Leader of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) should have joined the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rather than their fathers CPP. Dr. Nkrumah told XYZ News on Thursday June 20, 2013 that: Those of us who are on the left of Ghanaian politics, naturally today, will be more comfortable working with the NDC, so I thought if she had understood that, I think she would have been rather working with the NDC instead of with the CPP. Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, who has had back-and-forth stints with the CPP, NDC and NPP, said he believed Samia Nkrumah is alien to Ghanaian politics, thus her decision to join the CPP, which he described as a remnant of their fathers original CPP. Our father was a politician, he was the Founder of Modern Ghanathe children have a place to be involved in [politics] but the point is that you need understanding of the political situation and then make the right choices because one is not in politics because of his father or his family roots. Dr. Nkrumahs comments come in the wake of a Daily Graphic publication on Thursday which said a fact-finding committee report of the CPP had implicated Samia Nkrumah and the partys 2012 Flagbearer Dr. Abu Sakara Forster in the embezzlement of about Ghc700, 000. Dr. Nkrumah said inasmuch as he knew his sister not to be a corrupt politician, he would avoid passing judgment on the missing Ghc700, 000 saga since he was not privy to the details of the matter. Normally I dont expect her to belong to the corrupt politicians, but I dont know much about the issue so I cannot commit myself to saying anything for or against [her], he noted.
