PLB Grateful For A Successful League Season - Abra-Appiah

Chairman of the Premier League Board, Welbeck Abra-Appiah is exultant to ones again see an end to a fabulous 2012/2013 league season under his administration. According the premier league boss, support from the media and soccer fanatics who patronized league matches have made it possible for Ghana�s league to be a triumph. �I thank everyone. On behalf of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Premier League Board (PLB) members, I thank all Ghanaians for their immense support given to the GFA and PLB during this year�s league, he said. In an interview with PEACE FM�s PEACE POWER SPORTS, Mr. Abra-Appiah however praised the league winners, bid farewell to the relegation teams and welcomed newly promoted side to the 2013-14 league. �At the end of the league, we will get champions, and runner ups as well as some will be relegated. I will bid farewell to the relegated sides so as to pave way to the newly division one sides who will be promoted to the league next season. All I want to say is congratulations to the champions,� he said. Asante Kotoko won their 22nd Ghanaian top league title last Sunday after a Prince Baffoe late goal to give them a 1-0 victory over Amidaus Professionals at the Tema Stadium. The 2012-13 Glo Premier League season came to an end with three clubs, Tema Youth, Berekum Arsenal and Real Tamale United suffering relegation. All three sides lost their final matches of the season. Tema Youth and Berekum Arsenal finished 14th and 15th respectively with either side earning 31 points. Real Tamale United completed a frustrating campaign with the least number of points in the history of Ghana�s Premier League. The pride of the North manages to secure 2 points out of 30 matches.
