Development Of The Country Is The Responsibility

Mr Ebenezer Teye Addo, Western Regional Minister, on Monday called on senior citizens to place their rich experience at the disposal of the country. He made the call at a luncheon organized by the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) for over 500 Senior Citizens to mark this years Senior Citizens Day at Sekondi. Mr Addo said as senior citizens have contributed to the growth of the country, it is expedient for them to share their experiences and knowledge gained during active service. He said the day is not only to recognize the contributions of Senior Citizens to national development but to serve as a call for the youth to build on the achievements of senior citizens. Right Reverend Kwamena Otoo, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Sekondi, called on Senior Citizens to continue contributing towards the development of the country. He said the development of the country is the responsibility of all and that pensioners should contribute to build a better Ghana. Bishop Otoo urged pensioners to exercise patience while government was finding solutions to their concerns and urged them to initiate income generating activities to supplement their pensions.
