GHANA�S most controversial hiplife artiste, Barima Sidney, whose music has gone down well with music fans in Ghana and beyond, yesterday disclosed to BEATWAVES that he will soon release another controversial single which talks about the hardship Ghanaians are going through in the hands of the Government.
According to Sidney, his new hit single, �Eboboba Reloaded 2�, talks about the economic hardships and the NDC�s slowness in providing solutions to the problems face Ghanaians.
Barima Sidney, whose hit song, �Africa Money� and �Enkoyie� created panic among Ghanaian politicians, hinted that �Eboboba Reloaded 2�, is not a politically motivated song composed to tarnish the image of a particular party or government. The idea behind �Eboboba Reloaded 2� is different from public perception.
Though the song made no mention of a political party or person, it was clear who the song was referring to as it compared the current feeling among Ghanaians to that of a man who leaves his wife to enter into a new marriage. One which he sooner than later regrets, but feels trapped by circumstances and cannot get out of for some years to come.
Sidney explained that his yet to be released single had nothing to do with politics in Ghana although a number of people who have listened to it thought otherwise.
Sidney said, �I don�t do politics with my music. I sing to educate the people about the problems in the society and educate people to desist from acts that seek to undermine the progress of the society but not to attack any political party.�
Sidney, whose latest single has the potential of becoming a big hit on the market, said �everything is set for the release of the new single onto the music market. The video is also ready and will also be released alongside the song�.
Sidney, in his �Obia Nye Obia� album released in 2005, struck a timeless debate about equality in society while �Wo Kunu Kotebea� encouraged citizens to support their leaders and partners to support each other but the chorus had a profane twist.
Sidney has also been involved in various educational campaigns. �Give Them the Pen, not the gun� was a song dedicated to all child soldiers in the world especially in Africa. It featured Dr. Kaunda, his lyrical mate and King Ayisoba (a traditional singer).
