Union Savings And Loans Clean Up And Donate To Children�s Hospital

Union Savings and Loans, one of the companies in the Jospong and Zoomlion Group used the Republic Day holiday to clean up the Princess Marie Louise Children�s Hospital in Accra and also donated items worth GHC10,000 to the hospital. The exercise was done in close collaboration with Zoomlion and Zoom Janitorial and it include cleaning of gutters and drains around the hospital, mowing of grass and lawns in the hospital, painting the children�s play area, pavements, and walk ways of the hospital, and cleaning the floors of the four wards. They also donated 150 bed sheets, enough assorted detergents and sanitizers to clean the hospital for the next six months to one year, 10 cartons of V Canula gauge, medical hand gloves and toys for the children to play with. Managing Director of the company, Philip Oti Mensah told Adom News cleanliness is the hallmark of the entire Jospong and Zoomlion Group, and they believe there is no better place to start from than the hospital where sick people are attended to. He said the choice of the Children�s Hospital in particular was because the children are the future leaders of the country and Union Savings and Loans believes in growing with the young generation, whether they are in school, in business startups or even sick in hospitals. Philip Mensah said Union looks forward to becoming a major playing and Ghana�s financial industry and corporate world as a whole, but believes that it has to bring along the populace in order to realize that vision. On that score, he said Union intends, as part of its corporate social responsibility, to train accountants and financial industry personnel for young and budding companies across the country so that they could set up their financial systems well and grow with Union. �We believe the realization of our vision depends on the growth of young businesses and we intend to help them grow as we grow,� he said. He said Union plans to make financial education very common among Ghanaians so that people would have basic understanding of loan transaction, personal as well as small business financial management. Board Chairman for the Children�s Hospital, Father Andrew �Nii Lante� Cambell was full of gratitude to the Union and he urged other corporate organizations to emulate that examine, saying that anything done for the children is done for God and for the future of the country and the world.
