UNESCO Director General visits Ghana

Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Irina Bokova is scheduled to arrive in Ghana on Sunday for a three-day official visit. A statement from the UN�s Information Center in Accra says Ms Bokova will hold high level meetings with heads of ministries that operate within UNESCO�s field of work. The Ministers of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Communications, Information and Media Relations, Water Resources, Works and Housing and Youth and Sports will be holding special individual meetings with the UNESCO Director General as part of her itinerary throughout Monday, July 8, 2013. �As part of her high-level engagements, Ms. Bokova will be visiting Parliament to deliver a statement on UNESCO�s Vision for Africa in the medium term,� the statement said. She is also expected to meet President John Dramani Mahama and visit United Nations agencies and some academic institutions.
