Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice - Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 General Elections has extended his warmest wishes to Muslims across the country and abroad on the commencement of the month long Ramadan fast.
In a statement posted on his facebook page on Tuesday afternoon, the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana was of the hope that Allah will bless all faithfuls abundantly as a result of the devotion, fasting and prayers and sacrifices during the Holy Month.

"Asalamu � Alaikum, The Sacred Month for unique spiritual engagement is upon us again. This sacred period ensures that we move close to Allah through fasting and prayers, reading of the Holy Qur'an and the outward expression of faith through acts of kindness and love.
It is my hope that above all Allah will bless us abundantly and that at the end of this most holy period of devotion, prayers and sacrifices, we will see the realization of our great aspirations.
