Judgement Debt Commission Postpones IGPs Appearance

The Judgement Debt Commission on Monday postponed the appearance of Mr Mohammed Alhassan, Inspector General of Police (IGP) to Wednesday, July 24, to enable him to study and respond fully to the Commissions request. The postponement became necessary after the Office of the IGP informed the Commission that he received the summons late and, therefore, pleaded for more time to enable him to prepare. The IGP was to appear before the Commission on Monday to answer questions on issues related to one Samuel Adjei and Lance Corporal Bukari. The Attorney Generals Department (AG) was also supposed to present documents on money paid to Deweyana Leboes, US legal firm, regarding a work done on the Ghana Maritime Boundary in 2008. Miss Elfrida Dankyi, the AGs representative, however, failed to present all the documents and was asked by Justice Yaw Appau, Sole Commissioner, to gather the documents and furnish the Commission as soon as possible.
