False Prophets Churches Would Have Been Pulled Down If NDC MP

A leading Member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a Member of Parliament believes the treatment dished out to Priests who prophesied falsely in days of yore by having their places of worship burned down, would have been meted out to modern-day prophets who indulge in same. NDC Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency, Hon. Adjei Mensah claims in the run-up to the 2012 General Elections, many men of God prophesied that the Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo was going to win while others predicted one time victory for President Mahama. The MP, who was speaking on Okay fm, wondered whether those men of God whose prophecy failed to materialize, did so under the influence of God or Satan. I am not surprised to hear some pastors talking about calamity befalling the nation after the Supreme Court ruling if Christians dont praysome pastors, fetish priests and sheikhs always look for opportunitiesto create attention for themselves in order to attract a lot of followersif some of these pastors and fetish priests do not use such means, nobody will seek them for prayers or spiritual directions, he posited. Touching on the heaviness in spirit Dr. Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) claimed to have felt and for which reason he led his congregation to pray for the country to avert any calamity from happening, Hon. Adjei Mensah pointed out that he (Dr. Mensa Otabil) is not the only Pastor who is closer to God; adding that all Ghanaians are children of God. .what some pastors are saying is not what God has said they should doGod has not told Ghanaians to pray about anythingGod does not operate in our generation that way as some pastors might want us to believe, he said. He further added that as a free-thinker, he will not go to any pastor or fetish priest for solution to his problems.
