24/7/12 Interpretation Is Blasphemous

Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described as blasphemous the interpretation given to the date on which President John Evans Atta Mills died. The late Prof. Mills, generally known as a man of peace, died on 24th July 2012. Many have given varied interpretations to the events that took place when he died. Some have suggested that because the weather was very calm and peaceful on the day he died, it is an indication that he was truly a man of peace; Asomdwehene. The date; 24th July 2012 has also been interpreted to mean that he (Prof Mills) would keep watch over us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 12 months a year in other words, forever. This was reiterated by the Greater Accra Regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Joseph Ade Coker on Wednesday edition of Kokrokoo. However, speaking on the same platform, as a panelist, Kwamena Duncan indicated that it is not religiously right to give attributes belonging to God to a mere mortal who once lived as a human being. 24/7/12 has now been interpreted as; he looks over us even in deaththis is blasphemous because President Mills was just mortal he stated. Meanwhile, several parts of the country today experienced heavy downpour of rain, flooding several places. With today marking the one year of Prof. Mills passing, juxtaposing it to the kind of whether experienced, what will be the interpretation this time?
