Judgment Debt Commission Begins Public Sitting July 31

The Commission of Inquiry established by President John Mahama to inquire into Judgment Debts Payments and other related matters will hold public sittings from Wednesday, July 31. A statement signed by Mr George William Dove, Public Relations Officer of the Commission, copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said the Inspector General of Police, the Public Record Archives Administration of Ghana, and the National Archives of Ghana would appear before the Commission. The statement said they are at liberty to appear with their lawyers and that sittings would start at 0100 hours each day. “Members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are to report first at the Commission’s office to give their statements. The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence,” the statement said. It said all those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission which will be treated confidentially.
