NAP Congratulates First Lady

The National President, Executives and members of the Network of Persons living with HIV (NAP Ghana), have congratulated Mrs Lordina Mahama, the First Lady on her appointment as a first Vice President. A statement signed by Mr Kofi Amofa, National President and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the First Lady was appointed Vice President of African First Ladies against HIV and AIDS (OAFLA) at their meeting in Addis Ababa. It congratulated the First Lady for supporting the Ghana AIDS Commission as a Premier Advocate for the UNAIDS Global Plan to reduce mother to child transmission as well as assisting the HIV ambassadors in their work against discrimination and public education about HIV and AIDS. The statement appealed to Mrs Mahama to use her new position to seek and ensure prompt release of funds to regional and district hospitals. It appealed to the First Lady to ensure sustainable access to and more locally produced antiretroviral drugs and timely supply of single dosage drugs especially as well as more support to the national response.
