Kintampo College Of Health Facing Property Encroachment

The Director of the College of Health and Well-Being - Kintampo, Dr Emmanuel Teye Adjase has observed that though the management of the College is working feverishly behind the scene to upgrade the institution into a university, encroachment is one of the major challenges facing it. Dr Adjase made the observation at Kintampo during the out-dooring of a prestigious International Star for Leadership in Quality (Gold Category) award which was presented to the College in Paris on the first of July this year. He pointed out that hundreds of people have encroached on the Colleges land for the University of Health with impunity. He entreated the President of the Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, Pemapem Yaw Kagbrese to use his good offices to let the appropriate quarters know and act with dispatch to stem the wanton trespassing on land designated for the University project. The former Chief Psychiatrist, Prof J.B Asare and his successor, Dr Kofi Osei among others were recognized for the roles in respect of the award. GBCs John Sam-Arthur and Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo were among some personalities honoured for their contribution towards the winning of the International Star for Leadership in Quality award. The Deputy Director of the College in charge of Administration, Philibert Kankye stated that over the years the College has trained many highly qualified and dedicated health personnel who are ready and eager to serve in most deprived communities in the country with zeal. Touching on the award, Mr Kankye said it has proved to the world that to be a shining star is not the preserve of a selected few in the big cities or the developed world.
