A 25-year-old girl suffering from eye cancer, Mary Boaduwaa needs Ghc4,200 urgently to undergo surgery and radiotherapy at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi. She has not been able to raise the money and her condition is deteriorating by the day. Mary, a former student of Krachi Senior High School in the Volta Region, was diagnosed with the cancer of the right conjunctiva in February 2012 and has been battling the festering disease on her own. Both parents are deceased and her benefactor Aunt also died not too long ago. She has been abandoned by her family at Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo region. Mary has completed preliminary clinical investigations and started a six week chemotherapy treatment. She is scheduled to undergo surgery and radiotherapy at the cost of GH4, 200, according to Dr. Daniel Sam, Medical Director of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
