Thieves Steal Cash From Boakye Djan's House

Thieves Friday dawn raided the house of Major Retired Osahene Boakye Djan, former Head of Government and Official Spokesman of the Erstwhile Armed Forces Revolution Council at Tema Community 11 and made away with a car tape and a bag containing GH₵500 and some valuable documents kept in a Mahindra pick-up with registration number GS 9816-11. Speaking to the 'Ghanaian Times' about the incident, Major Retired Boakye Djan said some friends of his, visited his residence on Thursday to celebrate the NDC�s victory following the Supreme Court ruling on the 2012 presidential election petition. He said the celebration went on until late hours of the day when he went to sleep at about 1 am on Friday. Major Retired Boakye Djan said, however he was surprised to find in the morning that someone had opened the bonnet of the vehicle apparently in an attempt to remove the battery. He said in his bid to start the car, he found that the tape had been stolen along with a bag containing the amount and the documents. �We found footmarks near the Western Wall indicating that the robbers might have scaled the wall into the house to carry out their acts� he said adding that the matter had been reported to the Tema Community 11 police. A source close to the police station confirmed the story and said the incident was being investigated.
