I Will Seek Re-election Jake

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey has revealed to Citi News that he plans to seek re-election at the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) next congress. His announcement comes on the back of increased speculations about the fate of current executives who failed to lead the party to victory in the last election. Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey said he was willing to serve the party. He added: I am willing to answer a call to continue to serve. The fact that my leadership has been criticized by people does not come as a surprise to anybody because I have always believed that there is no being who is perfect except God. According to him, since the NPP is a democratic party, the party owners will decide out of those who are offering themselves the best person to do the job that they are seeking to be appointed to do. Reacting to the intense lobbying of positions within the party, he said the party's constitution does not prevent people from contesting for positions. At the end of the day there is no law that prevents them, there is no resolution, there is no article within our constitution that forbids people from offering themselves or proposing others for the position.
