Former NPP MP: NDC Are Copycats....We Must Be Good Pacesetters

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South, Stephen Kwaku Balado-Manu has asked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be good pacesetters. According to him, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are looking up to us; watching our every move so that they will emulate and so we need to be careful". He alluded on Kokrokoo programme that when the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John started advertising that the NPP 2012 flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo- Addo will be their next flagbearer by hook or crook, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC also followed suit and stated that he will go to any length to ensure that President Dramani Mahama goes unopposed for the election in 2016. We are the pacesetters because the NDC copies from us and so we should be careful in what we do. Sir John made the statement and then Ade Coker also followed suit, he said. He however went further to condemn the utterances of both Sir John and Ade Coker; saying, Sir John should allow Nana Akufo-Addo to have his peace and Ade Coker should allow President Mahama to work and focus on achieving his promises. So that he (President Mahama) will not use it as excuse: saying I was distracted and that was why I couldnt achieve anything... He told Sir John that whether Nana will contest or not is not the focus right now. Our priorities must not be misplaced. There is time for everything. Balado Manu also indicated that the party (NPP) should look at the issues which led to our defeat and ensure that it doesnt occur again. NPP is not focusing on flagbearership right now...we have to find ways to organise the party and then later, no matter who is selected as the flagbearer, we will rally behind him.
