Egypt Coach Bradley Sure of Victory Over Ghana To Qualify For 2014 World Cup

Egypt coach Bob Bradley is confident they will beat Ghana to qualify for the 2014 World Cup even though he admits the Black Stars will be tough to crack. The Pharaohs were drawn to play Black Stars in the final playoffs for the tournament in Brazil in a two-legged match to decide who will qualify. The match is one of the biggest for Africa in the final qualifiers given the pedigree of the two countries on the continent. The American coach, who was in charge of the United States when Ghana beat the United States in the round of 16 of the 2010 World Cup, has expressed the confidence that the Pharaohs can beat the Black Stars to advance. Matches against Ghana will be very tough as the team consists of several players from the biggest European leagues, American coach Bradley said. There is no need to worry as we could have been paired with any of the five teams and they are all powerful, he added. The winners of seven successive African Cup of Nations have achieved full points in the qualifiers groups stage, topping Group G with 18 points. Egypts last game against Ghana was a friendly in January 2013, when the Pharaohs lost 3-0 ahead of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), which they failed to qualify for. The previous meeting of the two teams was crucial as Egypt, under the countrys most successful coach, Hassan Shehata, defeated Ghana 1-0 in the final of the CAN 2010 to claim their seventh trophy. The Egyptian team is hoping for their first ticket since 1990 to the worlds most prestigious tournament.
