Dont Speak Ill About Another NPP Member - Bawumia

The 2012 vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on the rank and file to stay away from any ill talk that would divide the party. He said unity within the executives and supporters of the party would aid them wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections. He was speaking in Kumasi as part of the partys thank you tour of the Ashanti Region. The 2012 vice presidential candidate mentioned a number of measures the party would put in place to enhance its electoral fortunes, including the use of young talent, and strengthening of the grassroots amongst others. Dr. Bawumia, Party Chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and the General Secretary, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, are currently embarking on a nationwide tour to thank the various executives and supporters in the region for their unremitting support of the party during the eight months of the presidential petition hearing. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie spoke about reforms in the party, and advised executives at the constituencies and regional levels to put good structures together. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey said the acceptance speech by the partys presidential candidate showed they wanted peace for the country, adding, it is the only way the NPP can give wealth and happiness to the country. He claimed Ghanaians were mourning after the verdict of the Supreme Court, because it did not go their way, and called on party supporters to keep reminding Ghanaians about the tricks of the ruling government. He credited the National Democratic Congress for being able to generate millions of Ghana cedi under Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), but strongly criticised it for failing to invest it in productive ventures to help create more jobs in the country. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey also appealed to party sympathisers to allow competition in the party, and not allow themselves to be carried away by negative ideas. Dr. Bawumia added the party would double its efforts and be more vigilant at the polling stations come the 2016 general elections to avoid another defeat. He also spoke about the management of the resources of the country, which, he said, had been wrongly handled by the NDC, and would, therefore, require competent hands like the NPP to resolve.
