Kofi Adams Suggests AU Command Unit For African Countries

Spokesperson for Former President, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, Kofi Adams has suggested that an African Union, standing army or command unit be established, which will involve peace keeping soldiers from various African countries. Speaking to Agatha Asamoah on Radio Ghana's Current Affairs Programme, Behind The News, Mr. Adams explained that this unit when established will be sent on peace missions. By this, he said, no particular country will then be targeted by terrorist gangs as interfering in their operations. Mr. Adams said the attack on Kenya by al-Shabab militants must be a major concern to all Africans because any country can suffer the same fate at any time.
