Sidiku Buari Pays Tribute To The Late Thomas Frimpong

Former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Alhaji Sidiku Buari has paid glowing tribute to the memory of the late Thomas Frimpong, the 70-year-old veteran highlife musician who passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on Wednesday September 18 after a short illness. The former MUSIGA president described the late highlife musician, who played an active role in MUSIGA activities, as an honourable man whose demise had afforded Ghanaian musicians another opportunity to unite. He was mindful of his duties as a musician, which he executed with great compassion and excellence, Alhaji Sidiku Buari noted. Sidiku Buari said Thomas Frimpong was a legend who thoroughly enjoyed his art and his brilliant performances earned him loyal fans amongst all age groups across the globe. He noted that the late Thomas Frimpong tirelessly worked to improve the lives of a number of musicians when he was a member of the MUSIGA welfare team. Thomas was to me a figure who epitomized the many things possible and within our reach even in the face of difficult circumstances. Thomas found a way to blend real life stories with the happenings of today to inspire Ghanaian music lovers. Thomas, the vacuum you have created will be difficult to fill. We believe that you are resting in the bosom of the Almighty God who created heaven and earth. May your soul rest in perfect peace.
