The Former Chairman of the Council of State, Late Professor Kofi Nyidevu Awoonor, will on Friday be celebrated at the National Theatre. The event which is being held under the auspices of the state will be filled with tradition, culture, music, dance and poetry to celebrate the life and works of the Late Professor Awoonor who died in the Kenya mall attack. Professor Awoonor who was a great academic, poet, literally luminary, statesman, politician, diplomat and fatherly mentor will be celebrated in grand style. Groups and personalities who will be present at the event include the Ghana dance ensemble, the Ghana Dance Company, the Ghana Association of Writers, Professor Atukwei Okai, Professor Kofi Anyidoho, Professor Nii Yartey, O Nii, are among the groups and inviduals who will be performing. Most of the poems that will be recited at the event will include Professor Awoonor�s collection of poems.
