Ghana Committed To Fighting Transnational Crime � Mahama

President John Mahama says Ghana is committed to enhancing greater collaboration with other African countries to fight transnational crime. This he noted is the only sure way to ensuring effective studying and arrest of criminals who threaten the security of African countries. �The government of Ghana is determined to continue to collaborate with sister countries within the West African sub-region to effectively fight transnational crime which threatens security and stability of our region and collaborative training is one way of achieving this aim,� said President Mahama. Professor Kofi Awoonor, a former Chairman of the Council of State was killed in the Westgate Mall in Kenya which claimed over 60 lives. President Mahama made the comments at the 45th Cadet Officers Graduation Ceremony at the Police Training College in Accra. He stated that �crime is distributed over space and time and respect no boundaries. We are grateful that you have shared your [cadet from Liberia and the Gambia] peculiar experiences with your Ghanaian colleagues. We also hope that you have learned from them and we pray that the bonds between our countries.� The President also charged the new cadet graduates to be diligent in their work and work hard to meet the high standard of the Police Administration. �Ghanaians expect you to be proactive in your duties and to serve and be accountable to them. The Ghanaian of the 21st century will take nothing short of good service.� He further urged them to operate within the confines of the law �and be firma and fair in its enforcement. You should live by example and embrace the principles of team works, selflessness, honesty and delegations which are essential components of modern leadership.�
