Many Are Scrambling For My Job Rev Asante

Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church-Ghana, Reverend Professor Emmanuel Kwaku Asante, says there are many bishops in the Church scrambling for his position though he is yet to complete his tenure. He, however, conceded that the situation is normal in the church as church politics began as old as during Jesus Christs days when two disciples asked Jesus - through their mother - to be afforded high positions in Heaven. So even in those times, there was church politics, he stressed in a sermon on GTV on Sunday, October 20, 2013. He was preaching to members of the St Pauls Methodist Church, where an induction ceremony was held for Right Reverend Thomas Brown Frimpong. Me nya nk)) y3 He called on the church, and Ghanaians as a whole, to support leaders while calling on leaders, on the other hand, to serve their followers in humility. He admonished that it is normal for leaders including the President of Ghana to be criticized, calling on them to take the criticisms in good faith. Talking about his presidency, Rev. Asante emphasized that his term will end in 2015 and so politicking for his position should cease. Me nya nk)) y3, he said in Akan to wit he has not yet finished serving his term. Rev. Asante has been the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church-Ghana since 2009. He is the third bishop to occupy the position but the 10th to lead the Church.
