The Akwamuhene of Edina Traditional Area has expressed reservation on the choice of words used by the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, during a response to a call for the fault of the construction of the Fish Processing Factory in Elmina, on Joy Fm on Tuesday. On the word of Nana Kojo Aduakwa, the Deputy Minister fired salvoes at all the Chiefs in the entire Traditional area by questioning what authority they had to attempt to stop the project. Akwamuhene was not too sure of the name of the Minister but was certain of what he heard. �I don�t want to mention any name because I may be mistaken, but yesterday on Joy news at 6, I heard it for myself and all who listened would bear witness. �He said that the action we took as Chiefs was senseless. That, we should have been there in the first place because we have not contracted anyone and that if we were sensible, we wouldn�t have done that,� he recounted. However, Checks by NEAT FM reveals that it was rather the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Nanor Bilijoe who had granted an interview to the Accra based radio. In the interview, he expressed disappointment with traditional leaders of Elmina for engaging contractors in a row over ongoing works for a fish processing project and a harbor. Hon. Bilijoe explained that the behavior of some members of the traditional council who visited the construction site to stop work on the project was unspeakable and amounted to violation of the law. Meanwhile, speaking on Me Man Nti Nana Kojo Aduakwa, the Akwamuhene of the Edina Traditional Area hinted that they Traditional Council would review the statement by the Hon. Nanor Bilijoe and come out with an appropriate line of action.
