The GET INVOLVED campaign trail of Samuel Awuku who is vying for the position of National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic party over the weekend zoomed into Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital where he reiterated his appeal for a decent campaign by all potential candidates. His campaign also received a major boost with tacit support from Steven Amoah, a former contestant of that position who is highly regarded in the Ashanti Region. Mr. Amoah commonly referred to as 'Sticker' by his peers, threw his weight behind Sammy Awuku when he addressed a meeting with Presidents of all Tescon branches in the region. He commended Awuku�s calm and respectful demeanor which he opined could attract floating voters to the party. The tour of the Ashanti region brings to six the number of regions Awuku and his team have visited. The team is yet to storm Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Regions with the slogan of �Boys abre, Girls abre�. Most of the Tescon Presidents who were at the Ashford Court, Bantama meeting described Awuku as �courageous and an affable person whose leadership qualities are not in doubt�. Apart from the numerous behind closed door meetings Mr. Awuku had with the youth, he was also on some radio stations where he thanked the NPP supporters for their contribution towards the party. �Thank you for choosing hope over fear and accepting Team Awuku�s message of GET INVOLVED. With your support we can complete the remaining three regions. The campaign is gathering momentum and many more of our youth are getting involved. Thank you for choosing hope over fear and choosing our message of HOPE over vile propaganda�, he assured the party supporters. Reiterating his calls for a clean campaign, Sammy Awuku asserted that, �with the feeling I am getting and the enthusiasm I am witnessing VICTORY 2016 is within reach. To my supporters please and please again, let us resist the temptation of going for an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth. I know you may not be happy with the vicious propaganda by our detractors both within and without but let us be resolute and embark on a campaign of difference�, Awuku urged his supporters. The support by many in the Ashanti Region does not come as a surprise as many party bigwigs have already thrown their weight behind the former Operations Director of the Alliance For Accountable Governance (AFAG). It would be recalled that quest of Samuel Awuku to become the National Youth Organiser of the NPP received a major boost last week as prominent NPP bigwigs from the Northern Region openly extolled his virtues. While Mustapha Hamid, a former National Youth Organiser of the NPP posted on his facebook wall that Sammy, wielded the �most lethal combination of virtues�, Iddrisu Musah Superior described him as �a leader with a COMPOSED STRATEGY for a nationwide call on the youth to regain their lost hope�.
