NDC Will Not Fault Bagbin- Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said the NDC will not fault the Former Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin for his criticisms against the President and the party since some of the issues he raised were evident in the party. We want to tell the general public and our party members at large that many of the issues that have been raised by Hon Babagin have been raised in some internal meetings and structures that have been put in place to deal with some of the perceptions that Hon Babgin referred to. I will not fault him as such because during some of the internal communications we had in the party, these challenges were identified in those meetings and we are working very hard to smoothen out the internal communication. Mr. Alban Bagbin on Friday questioned President Mahamas commitment to fighting corruption and has since come under criticism from some members of the governing party and government officials. But speaking on Eye Witness News, Mr Nketia downplayed the criticisms made against the former Majority Leader, stressing that if the party had addressed the issues that Mr Bagbin raised earlier, it would not have faced such shattering criticisms. I'm sure that if we had addressed the internal communications, first and foremost Hon Babgin and whoever is speaking on this subject would have been aware that there is some ongoing process to address the challenges that have been identified- his comments would have hence been unnecessary. Asked whether there was something chronically wrong with the partys structures to merit such criticisms by Hon. Bagbin, he noted that effective communication within the party was a major challenge the party was battling with. In that regard, he further appealed to the communicators of the party not to use the the media as a means of attacking senior members of the party I want to appeal to the communicators of NDC that they should not use the media to attack senior members of the party because whatever happens we all remain in the NDC and we should be careful and mindful of our common destiny such that if you use any media platform to tarnish the image of any senior member of the party, after the matter has been addressed, you are faced with the challenge of trying to rehabilitate the image you were trying to destroy. He also called for a ceasefire since measures were being taken to address the problems that the party was facing. Let me take the opportunity to call for cease fire and to give the assurance that these matters and other matters are being dealt with through the regular structures of the party.
