Nana Akufo-Addo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2012 elections is on holidays in Europe, where according to him, he would be relaxing and also �seek the face of God� with the regards to his political career which spans over three decades. He made this announcement after the verdict of the eight month long legal battle, challenging the validity of the 2012 election, in which he lost narrowly, was thrown out. Many party faithfuls have called on Nana Akufo-Addo to avail himself for the flagbearership so as to contest in 2016. Nonetheless, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Executive Chairman of the Ghana School feeding Programme, Dr. Kwame Amoako-Tuffour has categorically stated that Nana Addo has no choice in the decision to run again for elections on the ticket of the NPP. �He has not discussed it with me but let me make my own deductions. The way and manner in which this man has sacrificed for this nation and knowing him for over fifty years and thoughts he has for this nation. During the time of �Kumepreko� they nearly killed him but still continued. A person like that is committed to Ghana without any limit�. �How can he come back to say he would not run? Why will he not run? He has no choice in the matter. We will respect him if he wants to rest for a while but it is not for him to say he will not contest to run for elections. Then it means you don�t known him (Nana Addo),� he stated forcefully. He was speaking in a telephone interview with NEAT FM on the back of similar statements by other leading members of the party. He dismissed the suggestion that such calls by senior members of the party is an indication that there would not be a level playing field for anyone who would want to contest the primaries against Nana Addo, saying �Nana Akufo-Addo will have no choice but to run again for the presidency because the calls will come from the grassroots of the NPP.�
