Joe Ghartey Pays Homage To The Late Professor Kludzi

MP for Essikado-Ketan, former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice and currently the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joe Ghartey, has called on the family of the late Professor A.P.K Kludze, at his residence in Hohoe in the Volta Region to commiserate with them on the passing of the learned professor. Accompanying Hon. Joe Ghartey were some Volta Regional Executives and Constituency Executives of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Hohoe North constituency. Hon Ghartey described the late Professor Kludze as a true legal luminary and recalled that the last time he met the Profesor was when he was the keynote speaker for the inaugural B J da Rocha Memorial Lectures and Professor Kludze was the chairperson. The first point of call was the palace of the divisional chief of Gbi-Kpeme, Togbe Wordge (IV) and his elders. Introducing the Hon. Member of Parliament to Togbe Wordze (IV), the spokesman of Amegadze Royal Family Mr. Augustine Agbenya, a founding member of the NPP in Hohoe, described Joe Ghartey as an affable and down-to-earth person who has never lost touch with his roots. The spokesman further stated that, �Hon. Joe Ghartey together with Raphael Egbenunya, Mr. Phillip Kludze and myself founded the NPP in Hohoe. He revealed that Hon. Joe Ghartey was no stranger to Hohoe as he actually spent part of his adult life in the township. According to Mr. Phillip Kludze, when Joe Ghartey was a student at the University of Ghana, he spent his vacations in Hohoe and even when he became a lawyer he continued to visit. �I actually shared a room with Hon. Joe Ghartey in Hohoe,� he added. On his part, Togbe Wordze (IV) expressed his appreciation to Hon. Joe Ghartey for mourning with the family of Prof. Kludze and the people of Hohoe in general and gave him his blessing in all his future endeavours. The chief and his elders appointed YAO VI EMMANUEL DARKEY (the Elder Head of the Clan of the divisional chief of Gbi-Kpeme) as a �Godfather� to Hon. Joe Ghartey to further strengthen the ties between the MP and the people of Hohoe.
