The editor of the Ghanaian Observer, Egbert Fabille has described as strange the arrest of the driver of the dismissed Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hamah. "I even found the action of the police very strange and even Victoria Hanmah herself," he said. Lawrence Quayson was arrested and granted bail by the Mile 7 Police for allegedly recording a private conversation of his boss, Victoria Hamah. Speaking on Citi-FM�s News and Current Affairs Programme, Big Issue Mr. Egbert Fabille says the arrest of the driver is not justified because in the criminal and other offenses act, Act 29, there is no provision there that says that if you interfere with someone�s communication, you can be charged for an offense. According to him the only thing that he knows to the best of his knowledge is the constitutional provision of article 18.2 which reads no person shall be subjected to interference with the privacy of his home, property, correspondence or communication except in accordance with law and as may be necessary in a free and democratic society for public safety or the economic well-being of the country, for the protection of health or morals, for the prevention of disorder or crime or for the protection of the rights or freedoms of others.
