About six assembly members in the Adentan Municipality have been arrested by the Adentan Police Command over alleged attempt to assassinate the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Nubyl Kakra Van-Lare. According to information obtained from the Adentan police, the assembly members namely Tony Blair, Jacob Adjetey Mensah, Harrison Agbedanu, Michael Okai Dsane, Armaa Lai Botchwey and Patience Margo Tetteh allegedly tempered with the bolts and nuts which hold the tyres to the MCE�s official Nissan Patrol vehicle. They were said to have undertaken this diabolic plan against the MCE because she refused to append her signature for the release of their sitting allowances last Thursday at the assembly. The MCE was later warned by an informant not to use her car. The obviously disturbed MCE alerted her driver only for them to find out that all six nuts to one of the tyres of her official vehicle had been removed. The Adentan Police Command was informed about the incident for the suspected six assembly members to be apprehended. At the Police Station, Tony Blair is alleged to have boldly admitted to the crime but could not provide better and further particulars whatsoever to defend their action. The Police Officers present at the scene including the District Police Commander, COP Stephen Kofi Ahiatafo got the shock of their lives when three of the six accused brought out two each of the nuts from their pockets and placed them on the table of the Adentan Police Command. In a telephone interview with the MCE yesterday, she said she was worried and stated that �my life is in danger because what happened last Thursday was so barbaric�. Though she could not confirm the widely spread allegation that the Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Ashie Moore, was behind the failed assassination attempt, she said �I would not be surprised should Ashie Moore be behind this evil deal,� adding that she was convinced in her mind that the Member of Parliament harbored evil intentions about her. What is more intriguing is that the constituency Chairman for the Adentan constituency, Baba Zakaria, who is eyeing the MCE position, secured bail for the six accused.
