Chiefs Ask President Mahama To Deal Leniently With Victoria Hammah

Tossing a coin would always leave a referee with two options; it is either the head or tail. And it is for this reason the entire traditional council for Nkoranza, Kintampo and Mole have stepped in to plead with government to deal leniently with Victoria Hammah. The former Deputy Minister of Communications, Ms. Hammah, came under a series of condemnable attacks after a voice purported to be that of hers leaked and exposed issues which were too heavy for the shoulders to carry and ears to hear. Government didnt hesitate to sack Ms. Hammah from her post when it came to fore that she has revealed insoluble information to the general public leaving the Mahama government in awe. But spokesperson for the Nkoranza, Kintampo and Mole traditional council, Nana Effah Guakro has assured Ms. Hammah of their unflinching support and promised to solidly stand by her at this difficult times. He indicated that Victoria Hammah had and continues to show remorse for her wrong doing and this makes it hard for them to abandon her in at crucial moment. Though he condemned most of the comments Ms. Hammah made on the said tape, Nana Effah Guakro, believes if government had unhurriedly approached the matter, more revelations could have been washed ashore compared to the little that has been unearthed. Speaking in an interview with PEACE FM, the spokesperson for the traditional council, explained the reason behind their sudden intervention. According to him, their aim is to extend an olive branch to President Mahama and his minister and call on them to tactfully resolve the issue at stake. Although he acknowledged that Victoria Hammahs comments have already cost the National Democratic Congress, he posited that when your ward soils your legs with waste, you dont have to chop your legs off. All you need to do as a parent is to wipe the mess. We have been left with a sour taste in our mouths. We are not calling on the president to reinstate her(Victoria Hammah) but rather, we are calling for an investigation to be conducted. As to whether she would be brought back to the ministry or not, it is the decision of the president, he said.
