Victoria Hammah's Dismissal Was Harsh - NDC Executives

Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ablekuma West have described the dismissal of Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah by the president as harsh. The constituency executives stated that the President should have investigated the matter thoroughly. Victoria Hammah who contested the Ablekuma West parliamentary for the NDC was on Friday relieved of her position after her conversation wide-ranging issues with the party was made public. But speaking to Citi News, Deputy Constituency Organizer Lekey Dickson said the Presidents decision was harsh. I think this issue has been a very hasty decision on the part of the president. I think there should be a thorough investigation before sending her out of office. I think they should have a critical look at the issue. I could even tell that some of the comments that were purported to haave been made by her, were adopted voices so there are certain things that we should have a critical look at before any dismissal should take place. They should reconsider the decision and at least see how best they can tackle the problem. Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Police Command says it cannot proffer any charges against the driver of the former minister. According to the police, Mr. Quayson, has not committed any crime for which reason charges should be proffered on him. Mr. Quayson was arrested after it emerged that he was allegedly behind the leakage of the said tape that led to the dismissal of Victoria Hammah but he was subsequently granted bail. But speaking to Citi News DSP Freeman Tettey of the Police Public Affairs Directorate said there was no basis for the charges leveled against him. I dont think there is anything to investigate because we could not establish any offense committed by the driver. As and when there are other developments we will continue other investigations but at the moment, based on the facts that are available, there is nothing to investigate, he added
