'Reports Ranking Police As Corrupt Are Monotonous' - DSP Cephas Arthur

The Ghana Police Service has described the various report which ranks it as the most corrupt public institution as monotonous which does not merit comments from the police. This kind of rating whereby the police are constantly put at number one position on the corruption index is becoming monotonous, so monotonous that it does not merit comments from the police, Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur said. The latest Afrobarometer survey on corruption perception survey which covered 34 countries including Ghana showed that the police attracted the highest ratings of corruption with 43% of people saying that most or all of them are involved in corruption. The recent Transparency International Corruption Perception Index report also ranked the Ghana Police Service as the most corrupt after assessing a number of public institutions. But in response to the latest Afrobarometer survey on Citi News DSP Cephas Arthur stated that the police service would remain focused and concentrate on our drive towards higher levels of professionalism.
