Aliu Mahama Appears In Parliament

The continuous eulogizing of the late former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama has reached to the floor of parliament, as Members of the House have also taken turns to eulogize him. Presenting a statement on the floor of parliament yesterday, Osei Bonsu Amoah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwapim South said Alhaji Mahama was known �as a democrat, patriot, moderate and loyal person.� According to him, the former Vice President preached religious tolerance even in churches where he quoted from the Bible and Quran and added that his respect for culture and tradition was admirable. Mr. O.B. Amoah said, in his 66 years of existence, the late former Vice President �came across as a diligent, hardworking, affable, discipline and generous gentleman. He was a self-made man who dedicated his life to serving humanity and making life a bit comfortable for less endowed people regardless of their� background. �As Vice President, he worked hard and brought dignity to the office and was a person interested in providing avenues to finding solutions to problems to the development of the entire nation,� he added. In addition, as a private businessman and contractor, Mr. Amoah stated that he built a business venture with a huge image and enviable track record and employed and trained many Ghanaians and further contributed to the development of the nation. He noted that Alhaji Mahama �spread his wealth and assisted hundreds of people in diverse ways. He provided funding for the education of young people, for businesses to grow, for health and social needs of others and for projects in communities.� Contributing to the statement, MP for Nanton and Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations, Murtala Mohammed Ibrahim described the late Vice President as loving and humble man who was accommodating irrespective of one�s political or religious affiliation. Other members of the House who contributed to eulogizing late Alhaji Mahama included Majority Leader, Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor, MP for Wa West and former Health Minister, Joseph Yieleh Chireh among others.
