Parliament Summons 2 Ministers

Two ministers of state have been summoned before parliament to respond to questions from Members of Parliament (MPs) with respect to some projects in their various constituencies. The two are Ministers for Water Resources, Works and Housing and Roads and Highways, Alhaji Collins Dauda and Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemani respectively. The MP for Yilo Krobo, Magnus Kofi Amoatey would ask the Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing the plans his ministry has to connect the rest of the communities of the Upper Yilo to the Bukunor potable water project that serves Koforidua and its environs. The Minister for Roads and Highways would also answer questions from Mr. Amoatey on plans of the ministry to rehabilitate the Oterkporlu-Odumase-Krobo through Somanya to Okwenya roads to a standard to carry heavy trucks carting limestone from Klo Begoro to Tema and Takoradi. Mr. Alhaji Sulemani will also respond to a question from the MP for Krachi Nchumuru, John Majisi regarding what plans the ministry of Roads and Highways has to rehabilitate the roads in the Krachi Nchumu District. He will further answer three more questions from Frank Boakye Agyen, MP for Effiduase/Asokore if the sector ministry had any immediate plans to upgrade the roads in the Effiduase Asokore constituency which, he said are in “very bad state and if yes, what the timetable for work is.” Another question from Mr. Agyen to the Roads and Highways Minister is how “soon the bridge on River Gyemire, which links Effiduase Township and Effiduase Zongo on the Effiduase-Kumawu Road, which poses danger to roads users will be re-constructed.” The Effiduase/Asokore MP will also query Alhaji Sulemani when the Effiduase and Asokore Township roads will be given bitumen surface. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri will also take turn and ask Alhaji Sulemani “when the reconstruction works on the Nsawam-Suhum and Nsawam-Aburi roads will be completed.”
