NDC Activist Backs FICs Probe Of Vicky Hammahs Bank Accounts

While some members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) are calling on that the Mahama-led government to redirect its attention from investigating the bank accounts of former Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hamah, a loyal member of the Governments Communication machinery, Alhaji Naziru Mohammed, has backed the move by the Financial Intelligence Centre Ghana (FIC) as he considers it as a sure way to deter others from nurturing corrupt mentality in politics. A letter from the FIC, a subsidiary of the Bank of Ghana, entitled "Request for information on Victoria Hammah", was sent to all banks in the country notifying them that fired Deputy Communications Minister is under security surveillance for possible money laundering. The letter which was dated Wednesday, November 13 indicated that Ms. Hammah "has come under security notice." Against the backdrop of this letter, the NDC communicator insisted on Okay Fm that it is time that institutions of state are strengthened and allowed to work. He thus considers the move to investigate the bank accounts of Victoria Hammah as the right directive to create awareness that there is a body in Bank of Ghana which probe politicians and other individuals who engage in money laundering and corruption in the country. .that is one sure way of ensuring that if any appointee shares the same political ambition of Victoria Hammah, that person will be discouraged and this also will set the record straight as to whether Vicky has any of the amount of monies she mentioned on the tape in her account or not, he explained.
