Two persons including a fetish priest have committed suicide in separate incidents in the Eastern Region. They are Andrews Dramani, 25, a worker of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), and Kwasi Kuma, 54, a fetish Priest. The incident occurred separately in Effiduase in the New Juaben Municipality and Asiakwa in the East Akyem municipality, respectively. The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the St. Josephs Hospital and Kibi Government Hospital. Andrews Dramani, a Fire Service Assistant under the GYEEDA module hanged himself with a rope in a kiosk which served as his accommodation at Effiduase on Sunday. Information gathered by the Daily Heritage from a co-worker at GYEEDA and also a friend of the deceased indicated that, the deceased complained to him that, the girlfriend has threatened to break up with him since he is unable to take good care of her. The friend explained that, three days before the incident, he solved a quarrel between the two lovers at the roadside. Therefore, he believes, the situation might have led to the deceaseds suicide. However, speaking to the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, DSP Christopher Quacoo, he said the police are not privy to the information but said investigations are ongoing. He said pieces of information gathered by the police seem to suggest that, the deceased was having a mental problem as residents say he was showing abnormal behavior recently to the extent of attempting to swallow a frog. He said the body has been deposited at St. Josephs Hospital pending autopsy. Atta, a twin brother of the deceased told the paper that, six months ago, the deceased who was living in a family house, under no provocation parked his belongings to settle in the kiosk at Effiduase. He said the deceased has no mental problem and he is unsure what might have caused the unfortunate incident. In a separate development, the fetish Priest, Kwasi Kuma, also committed suicide by hanging himself at Asiakwa in the East Akyem Municipality over alleged frustration over the mental incapacity of his two children. Family Sources said the deceased is believed to have breached taboos of the deity which has attracted mental spell on his two children by the deity. Mensah, 24, one of the affected children has been in police grips on several occasions over different offences. Sources say, before the departure of the deceased, Mensah sneaked into the deceaseds shrine and took some regalia and other items to also worship as a god. All these are believed to have led to the deceased committing suicide. The Asiakwa station officer, Inspector Manu confirmed the story, adding that investigations are ongoing while the body has been deposited at the Kibi Government Hospital.
