Prez Mahama Deserves Eight (8) Years In Office

Mr Felix Efanam Nyaku, General Secretary of the United Cadres Front (UCF) , on Friday said President John Dramani Mahama deserved an eight-year term just as all elected presidents in the country. He urged detractors of the President and other persons with opportunistic intentions aimed at making sure that the president became a one-term president to desist from the act and rather channel their energies and ideas towards helping to improve the fortunes of the NDC to win the 2016 elections. Mr Nyaku said this in Tamale a cadres meeting to deliberate on issues facing the cadres, to build a vibrant and united cadre front and to see how best cadres could come together and work towards retaining power for the ruling NDC. He said President Mahama was the only leader in the countrys history to rule under severe conditions due to the law suit against him and that it was sad that those within government who claimed to have technical expertise to help find solutions to the countrys problems were rather at the opposing side. It is frustrating if you climb a tree and your own brother is cutting the tree down, he said and advised cadres and the rank and file of the NDC to resist attempts by opportunistic persons whose actions are geared towards pushing the party into opposition in 2016. He appealed to the cadre front to forgive all persons who might have wronged them in the past and forge ahead in unity and help the government to execute on its Better Ghana Agenda to justify the confidence reposed in the NDC. Mr Daniel Safo Mahama Amantana, the Northern Regional chairman of the United Cadres Front, appealed to the cadre core to avoid division and disunity and help build a stronger NDC to win the 2016 elections convincingly. He said cadres had the expertise to work and make sure that the NDC remained in power if there was unity of purpose and that grassroots mobilisation needed to start immediately. During an open forum, some of the cadres advised the leadership of the NDC not to be complacent about the 2016 elections but should work with resilience and fortitude to ensure a resounding victory and described as shameful act leaders within the party washing dirty linings in public.
