Tsatsu Misled The Sole Commissioner - KT Hammond

A former Deputy Minister of Energy, K.T. Hammond has expressed his disappointment at some of the answers given by former Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) boss Tsatsu Tsikata at the Judgment Debt Commission. According to him, Mr. Tsikata misled the Commission when he stated that the GNPC was in a good shape when the Kufuor administration took over in 2001. The former GNPC boss appeared before the Judgment Debt Commission on Tuesday to answer questions on the sale of GNPCs drill ship D511. Speaking to Citi News, Mr. Hammond said he stands by his statement that the GNPC had no liquid assets to pay for its debt. The documents, the files, everything shows that we brought out yesterday showed that the institution was in a very, very bad shape financially. He recalled that most of the letters the Chief Executives and Managing Directors wrote to the Ministry [Energy]...showed that the company had no money. Mr. Hammond insisted that the Corporation may have had property but we are talking about liquid assets to pay for their debts.
