Aide to the 2012 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Mustapha Hamid has indicated that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has no qualms over calls on him to appear before the Judgment debt Commission.
He expressed Nana Addo's readiness to honour the invitation of the Commission to assist in its investigations into the sale of the drill ship Discoverer 511.
The ship, which was sold off for 24 million dollars, has since been the focus of political discussion, hence the setting up of a Commission presided by Justice Appau to unearth the truth behind the sale and the payment of judgement debts by previous governments.
K.T Hammond and Kan Dapaah, former Ministers during the erstwhile Kufour administration, a couple of days ago, appeared before the Commission; after which Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata, former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Commission came before the Sole Commissioner to answer pertinent questions regarding the deal.
Following the appearances of these leading characters in the drill ship saga, other leaders such as Nana Addo, Ex-Presidents J.A Kufour and Jerry John Rawlings have all been cited to be interrogated by the Commission for their distinctive roles in the deal.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Gold, Mustapha Hamid opined that Nana Addo is unfazed by any invitation by the Commission, and posited that he is rather "indifferent to the extent that he thinks that Government of Ghana at that time acted in good faith and according to law. I don�t think that he has anything to worry at all and indeed he�s not worried at all. He just thinks that this country as part of the political atmosphere; people say so many things that really don�t have substance.�
So, he disclosed, "if he�s (Nana Addo) invited to put substance to it, he would but as far as I�m concerned he�s not worried at all.�
