Nunoo Mensah Replaced As National Security Adviser...

Former Interior Minister W. K. Aboah has been appointed as the new national Security Adviser. He takes over from retired Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, whose status came into question about a month ago, as to whether he was still the national security Adviser. At the time, Information and Media Relations Minister, Mahama Ayariga could not confirm or deny if Nunoo-Mensah was still the national security adviser. The issue came up following a tirade by Nunoo-Mensah against striking public officials. Aboah, a retired Commissioner of Police, once headed the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID). He has also served as the Director General of the Ghana Immigration Service. A statement issued from the presidency said Aboah is taking over from Nunoo-Mensah. The former security Adviser has been reassigned as the Head of the Human Security Department of the National Security Council Secretariat.
