'We Thought We Were Jay Z & Beyonce' So Blew $10m

They were once one of reality TV's richest couples, amassing a whopping $10m fortune from playing TV villains on The Hills. But since the show ended in 2010, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have experienced a spectacular fall from grace. While Heidi has admitted in the past to whittling away their fortune on her numerous plastic surgery procedures, the blonde reality star and her hubby have now revealed that they blew all of their millions. In a new interview with InTouch magazine, the couple, who just celebrated their five year wedding anniversary in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, say they now severely regret spending ridiculous sums of money on nights out at expensive restaurants and shopping sprees, during which they would splash out thousands of dollars at a time. Spencer admits that the pair had delusions of grandeur, and at the height of their fame even compared themselves to music's biggest power couple. 'We though we were Jay Z and Beyonce.' he admits to InTouch. 'In hindsight we should've been more low-key.'But it was the lion's share of the $10m which was sank into Heidi's 'side project', her failed 2010 album, aptly titled Superficial, that would have really hurt the pair. The blonde duo spent an extraordinary $2.5m on studio time, photo shoots and producers to perfect the record, only for it to fail miserably in both album sales and on the charts. Superficial sold slightly over 1,000 copies in its first week of release and in total was only downloaded a paltry 6,000 times. These days times have certainly change for the fame-hungry pair, who say they can now only afford to eat from food trucks or cook at-home meals. 'It's hard. We have to be really diligent about what we spend' says Heidi. 'Now I can spend like $100 at Victoria's Secret. I feel like a different person.' And it's lucky that Heidi can even fit into the bras from the lingerie giant, after recently getting her gargantuan 'bowling ball' size F breasts reduced to a more realistic C-cup. Before that, Heidi famously underwent 10 procedures in one day with surgeon Dr Frank Ryan, who was later killed in a car accident. Her long shopping list of procedures included: a mini brow lift, Botox in her brow and frownline area; a nose job; fat injections in her cheeks, nasolabial folds and lips; chin reduction; neck liposuction; had her ears pinned back; a breast augmentation revision; liposuction on her waist, hips and inner and outer thighs; and a buttock augmentation. In a separate interview with Life & Style magazine, Heidi says that if she ever has a daughter with Spencer, she will steer her away from plastic surgery. 'I would definitely advise her against it,' she says. 'And hopefully I'd raise her in the way that she doesn't feel pressure or need.'Heidi has recently been advising other young girls against going under the knife, telling them, 'My experience should tell other young women that beauty and confidence comes from within, it does not matter what you do on the outside if you are not happy and do not feel beautiful and secure and confident on the inside then no amount of surgery will change that or make you happier.' However, her words of wisdom came after she hit the operating table for one last time under the watchful eye of Angelina Jolie's surgeon, Dr. Jay Orringer, who reduced her implants to cure her debilitating back pain and numbness in her arms, at the cost of $40,000. 'Over the past few years my implants have handicapped me, I have not been able to do a lot of things,' she said as she explained why she had the procedure. 'For the past nine months I have not been able to do laundry, or look after my dogs or clean my house and I have had to stop working out because my injuries are so severe I cannot even do simple things like rowing or running,' complained Heidi. 'I have been limited in my everyday life and the last few months especially have been so uncomfortable and in pain that it has really been taking a toll on my life and my mood.'
