Gen Mosquito: Ghanas Major Bane Not CorruptionIt Is Dishonesty And Lies

Many including the President of the National Ministers of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mantey have openly wondered why corruption still remains a serious problem despite the fervent religious posture of Ghanas leaders. According to renowned pastor, it is more disheartening to know that almost all of the people in leadership are religious people. People are praying more but corruption is increasing more, I dont get it. Corruption indeed remains a topical issue in the country with persistent reports in the media of a growing incidence of the menace. For two years, stories about public officials and private individuals colluding to pay huge judgment debt have been unending. Government has had to set up a Judgment Debt Commission to look into many payments deemed to have been dubiously made. However, General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia does not believe the countrys most prevalent headache is corruption. Speaking on Asempa FM, Wednesday, the NDCs chief scribe attributed Ghanas major setback to the untruthful character of its citizens and leaders. He stated categorically that corruption is not Ghanas principal woe. Our biggest problem in this country is not corruption. Our major bane is dishonesty and lies. We are not truthfulwe turn black to white and white to black and that is our problem. If we are able to deal with dishonesty, then it will be easy for us to deal with corruption and other challenges. Pastors should preach about dishonesty to change the mindset of the people he said.
