E. K. Afranie Urges Kwesi Appiah To Maintain Fatau Dauda

Veteran Ghanaian trainer E. K. Afranie says he wants Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah to maintain Fatau Dauda as Ghana's first choice goalkeeper. The Ghana U-17 trainer thinks it is good for Appiah to retain Fatau Dauda despite his inactivity in the South African Premier Soccer League. "Fatau has been in post throughout the qualification and is necessary we maintain him at the World Cup," he said. The former AshGold shot-stopper has been under the perking order by Pirates Dutch Coach Roger De Sa, as he has not enjoyed any single minute in a competitive game ever since he joined the Bruccaners. Fatau Dauda was a key member for the Black Stars at the 2013 AFCON in South Africa where he gave a good account of himself, but most Ghanaian public has called for him to be benched at the World Cup due to lack of playing time at his South African outfit. Dauda hired personal trainers to help him maintain his form during the break.
